Since 1 July 2020, individuals aged 13 and above who display symptoms of acute respiratory infection (ARI) will have to undergo COVID-19 PCR swab testing under the enhanced Swab-and-Send-Home (SASH) programme. More than 30 Parkway Shenton medical clinics are under the Public Health Preparedness Clinics (PHPC) scheme and offer the SASH initiative.
Which COVID-19 pre-departure PCR test should I take?
The nasal swab PCR test is available for all outbound individuals travelling to any country that requires a COVID-19 PCR test for entry.
The saliva-based PCR test is available only for people travelling to countries that accept saliva-based pre-departure test results for entry. Currently, this includes the United States, Australia, Canada, Switzerland, Korea and Japan. As this list of countries is subject to change at any time, do check the travel advisories of your destination country before booking a pre-departure PCR test.
To be eligible for the saliva-based PCR test, you need to be of age 6 and above and have no acute respiratory infection. Please refer to our FAQs below for details on how to prepare for the test.
What is the testing window for the pre-departure PCR test?
Travellers are responsible for checking the testing window requirements of their destination country and if the clinic can meet the required timeline.
Do allocate adequate time to take and receive your COVID-19 pre-departure PCR swab test results before your departure from Singapore. For latest updates, check the Immigration and Checkpoint Authority website.
